Cuemái Triumphs at Isola Design Awards during Dubai Design Week

From my debut at Material Futures' Christmas show at Central Saint Martins to presenting at internationally acclaimed venues, and now being acknowledged by a platform devoted to emerging designers , it’s been an incredible journey of challenges, growth, and unwavering support. Every exhibit and every conversation has been an essential step leading to this achievement.

I'm beyond excited to share that Cuemái has been awarded the Material category at Isola Design Awards 2024! This recognition is more than a win for the project; it validates the idea that merging sustainability with heritage can reshape the future of design. The award comes as a testament to our belief in blending traditional Mexican craftsmanship with sustainable practices, specifically through repurposing tequila byproducts into innovative materials.

Back to Milan in 2025

This win paves the way for Cuemái's return to Milan Design Week 2025! Milan has always been a city where ideas are exchanged and boundaries are pushed, and it’s an honor to bring Cuemái back to this stage with even more momentum.

This acknowledgment only strengthens my resolve to innovate and explore new horizons in sustainable design. I am deeply thankful for the remarkable team of scientists, partners, and supporters who have been essential to this journey, and I’m eager to see where the road leads us next.
